SDP Working Groups:

The purpose of each of these working groups are to develop, plan and implement project activities in each of their individual areas of focus.

Community Building

Co-chaired by a TCHC and Market resident (elected annually), the purpose of the Community Building Working Group is to create accessible spaces, events and provide support to groups that bring residents together by removing social and physical barriers. This working group seeks to build bridges between: market and TCH residents, varying faiths, ethnicity and cultural groups, as well as between residents and agencies/institutions. The group also aspires to provide support to women groups and address barriers, discrimination and stigma faced by BIPOC and LGBTQIA+ communities.

Employment and Economic Development

Co-chaired by a TCHC and Market resident (elected annually), the purpose of the SDP Employment and Economic Working Group is to increase employment rates and entrepreneurial opportunities for residents of Regent Park.

Communications and Outreach

Co-chaired by a TCHC and Market resident (elected annually), the purpose of the Communications and Outreach working group is to make information about the SDP network, its working groups and projects easily accessible for everyone in the community and to coordinate the outreach, recruitment and support necessary for new members to participate in the SDP network.

SDP Network Planning Committee

Guided by the SDP Network Terms of Reference, the RPSDP Network Planning Committee shares decision making with the SDP Stakeholders' Table, and provides overall coordination and alignment for the SDP Network by:

Supporting the SDP Stakeholder Table to ensure that the meetings are effective for reporting, decision making and engagement;
Supporting the four Working Groups and the committees;
Reviewing strategic direction, action priorities, and stakeholder and resident engagement;
Identifying information and/or expertise that the Network requires in order to make sound and informed decisions;
Developing different engagement approaches that increase the capacity of all stakeholders to participate in the network.
Acting as a liaison with stakeholders and government representatives
Establishing standing committees,sub-committees and ad-hoc committees as needed.
